Hardware Installation
Not only do Acorn Media source and supply the best hardware for you we offer a fully comprehensive service to install all equipment we supply. This way you have total peace of mind that everything is working properly and you haven’t got the hassle in unpacking and setting up equipment. With PC’s we will setup the operating system and load the latest updates, setup email, add PC’s to the domain, setup anti-virus, load additional programs, setup printers and transfer data/settings from old PC’s. We commonly install monitors, printers and any other hardware for your convenience all at very reasonable prices. As part of the installation we will also register the warranty which then takes care of everything and allows you to get straight to work with your new equipment.

We can offer support in a variety of ways: - email, telephone, remote and we visit your site if it is required. How we deal with your IT problems?
When you realise you have a problem you need to ring or email one of our friendly, knowledgeable IT support team. Once the call has been logged and your details taken (if you are on a contract we will have all details of your equipment and you will only need to quote one easy asset number) we will ask you questions about your problem to troubleshoot, and establish the cause so we can fix it. The quickest and most effective way with the majority of problems is to log on to your PC remotely (if the firewall allows subject to broadband connection) to assess the situation and effectively fix the problem. Sometimes this is not possible so this is where we would visit your premises and then either repair the problem onsite or take the equipment away (we can offer you the hire of a temporary PC in this instance) depending on what the problem is.
What is remote support/maintenance and what are the advantages?
Remote support/maintenance is done by connecting to your PC desktop via a secure connection across the internet. This is safe, secure, efficient and cost effective as it is less time consuming than a site visit. Before we attempt to access your PC remotely we will normally perform a few checks with you over the telephone.
On-site support/maintenance- A friendly knowledgeable face
If the problem cannot be solved via these routes we will carry out a site visit. When we visit your site we will endeavour to visit as soon as we possibly can. We always assess the job urgency so we can respond to all of our customers fairly. Also, if you are a customer on a support/maintenance contract you will get priority response. Other advantages to on-site visits mean multiple problems can be sorted out at once and any changes to IT systems can be carried out e.g. moving users around, discussing potential IT changes in person.
